THE DARK KNIGHT
FILM INDUSTRY WORK
Douglas John's love for the film industry started as early as him being able to play a VHS tape all by himself. As his movie collection grew, so did his interest in the behind the scenes of filmmaking. From having watched every feature and all bonus materials, Douglas John was driven to bust into the industry in any way he could. A few years after his brief attempt in modeling, he was called for casting.
“I was surprised to get a call to be an extra in the movie "Ali" starring Will Smith. Unfortunately, my scene as a news reporter on the court house steps was dropped a week after my haircut and wardrobe fitting... Undeterred, I called around to find any other movies being filmed. I was able to work on the set of "The Express". There I met some wonderful people, one person that saw my unconfined excitement and started up a conversation. John told me they were filming the next Batman movie in the up coming weeks. Without hesitation, I immediately searched and found Joan Philo Casting where I stood in a line in one of my best suits. Thanks to John, I met Joan personally. Joan also saw my enthusiasm. Soon after I found myself in an intimate scene of the Batman sequel, pseudonym Rory's First Kiss. I don't think it's just about who you know, I think it's also about sharing your passion."
